Beaded Lampshade

Posted on March 22, 2014

Although I haven’t been posting for a while now, that doesn’t mean I haven’t been keeping busy. So, in the next few weeks I plan to update you with my latest projects for friends and from around the house.

Today’s project is a lampshade do-over – a delicate and special project for a delicate and special friend.

The project evolved from being a purely mosaic one to experimenting with the technique of soutache (image below) to a beaded-type of mosaic invention…

The subject was, of course, inspired by my very musical friend. I first thought about creating a jazzy feel with different silhouette of singers, but decided eventually to go with a more simple musical notes theme. Also, the colors were inspired by my friend’s preferences.

I decided not to burden you with any more technical details. However, if you ever need any, please feel free to drop me a line on my mosaic Facebook page.

I’d love to hear how you’ve enjoyed my delicate beaded mosaic project for a lampshade do-over!
